The Development of Hog Industry in the Context of Environmental Regulation and African Swine Fever: Practice Investigation and Case Study

Abstract: Through practical investigation and case study, this paper studied the development of hog industry in the context of environmental regulation and African swine fever. The survey found that environmental regulation policy has brought greater pressure to farmers, pollution treatment led to a direct increase in the cost of breeding, business has become difficult, but environmental regulation has also prompted farmers to pay more attention to environmental protection, and in the process learned new fecal treatment technology. Affected by African swine fever, Guangdong hog breeding industry accelerated production capacity decreased significantly, which brought a greater impact on the hog industry. On the other hand, African swine fever also made farmers more aware of the disease knowledge and prevention work. Through the case interview, the farm was in-depth understanding, and found that different types and sizes of farms under the influence of multiple factors, their coping treatment was different. Finally, according to the conclusion of the study, the corresponding policy recommendations were put forward.
