Causes of Influencing Estrus Rate of Weaned Sows and Countermeasures

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to discuss the causes of estrus rate of weaning sows and its solutions. Through analysis, the factors affecting estrus rate of weaning sows were found to be nutrition, fat condition, parity, environmental control, mycotoxin, light, inducement, reproductive system infection, weaning age, ovarian cyst and some diseases factors. According to the influence of the caused of diseases, the countermeasures were discussed. Sows feeding and management should be done well before, during and after weaning, such as reasonable feeding according to sow fat, control of the environmental control of sows, and prevention of reproductive diseases in sows earlier. It was essential to reasonably control the illumination time in the piggery and the weaning age, do a good job on sow estrus induction and investigation, and complete the disease prevention work regularly. The conclusion of this study provided a theoretical basis for improving estrus rate and reproductive performance of weaned sows.
