Abstract: Tea polyphenols were the main bioactive components in tea extracts, exhibiting various biological functions such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, and deodorizing effects. As a green feed additive, tea polyphenols had significant application potential in the livestock industry. This article provided a brief overview of the basic properties, extraction methods, and biological functions of tea polyphenols, discussed their applications in pig production, primarily including the enhancement of pig production performance, improvement of pork quality, extension of meat shelf life, strengthening of immunity, and improvement of the pigsty environment. Therefore, the application of tea polyphenols in pig production was gradually increasing, it also presented issues and suggestions for tea polyphenol research and application in the future.
