Abstract: Windrow aerobic composting is one of the mainstream technologies for treating organic solid waste. As its core equipment, the windrow turner directly affects composting efficiency and product quality. This paper analyzed the technical principles of windrow turners for windrow aerobic composting, and classified and compared them based on difference in power matching, power type, and working mode. It reviewed the research status of such windrow turners at home and abroad, analyzed key technical bottlenecks, and prospect to future development trends from the perspectives of intelligence, energy conservation and environmental protection, and multifunctionality, aiming to provide references for the optimized design and promotional application of windrow turners.
