Abstract: Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) posed a severe threat to the economic efficiency of the swine industry, and novel prevention and control strategies for PRRS were urgently required. Yeast β-1,3-1,6-glucan, a natural immunomodulator, had garnered significant attention for its potential in PRRS management. This paper systematically reviewed the control efficacy and mechanism of β-glucan against PRRS, proposed application recommendations for its used in PRRS prevention, and discussed the optimal dosage and synergistic effects when combined with other strategies based on literature evidence.The aim was to provide application insights and theoretical foundations for utilizing β-1,3-1,6-glucan in PRRS control.
