Study on the Application of Soluble Matter from Corn Distiller Dried Soluble in the Diet of Fattening Pigs

Abstract: To study the effect of corn distillers dried soluble matter (DDS) as feed material on growth performance of growing finishing pigs. 72 three-way crossbreeding fattening pigs weighing about 70 kg were randomly divided into 2 treatment groups, with 2 replicates in each treatment group and 18 pigs in each replicate. The control group was fed with basic diet, and the experimental group was fed with experimental diet containing 40% DDS for 20 days. The results showed that, compared with the control group, the average daily gain, average feed intake and feed to meat ratio of the experimental group had no significant difference (P>0.05). But from the economic benefit analysis, compared with the control group, the daily feed intake cost and the cost of gain per kilogram in the experimental group decreased by 1.41 RMB and 1.50 RMB, and the profit per pig in the whole fattening cycle was about 75 RMB. This experiment proved that adding DDS in the diet of growing-finishing pigs can fully meet the growth needs of the pigs, reduced the breeding cost and further improve the economic benefits.
